Meet Our Principal

 

LaToya Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts, History degree from Prairie View A&M University. She received her Masters in Education Administration in 2015 from Lamar University. Taylor began her educational career at Waco ISD in 2011 as an ISS aid. Later in 2011, she became a U.S. History Teacher and coach at Waco High School. In 2012, she moved to Austin ISD and taught Special Education and completed her principal internship at Travis High School. In 2016, Taylor made a transition to the middle school level where she became the Social Behavior Skills teacher, using an individualized teaching approach to assist special education students to improve their academic and behavioral performance. During this time, she was also a campus behavior support for students in the behavior RTI process. Most recently, Taylor served as assistant principal at Plum Creek Elementary in Lockhart ISD, for the past three years.

Taylor brings with her a proven track record of meeting high academic standards, reducing behavior incidents, and developing strong personal relationships with students, teachers and the community. She has experience with serving students from the elementary to high school level. Most of her time in education has been spent teaching, coaching, and mentoring high school and middle school students. Taylor has a personal goal to see the success of all students, regardless of their needs.
